３月３１日から開始したこの新聞記事の翻訳も今回が最終回です。今回の課題の最初の文は日本語らしい、一見とらえどころのない文章です。このような文章は直訳しても英語として意味が通じにくいので、内容を租借して自分なりの解釈を反映した英文を書くという意識が大切です。

■課題
背景にはITを導入してもしなくても医療機関が受け取る診断報酬が同じという事情がある。「大半の医療機関は様子見」（大手情報企業）。
先行する医療機関でコストの大幅削減、患者数の増加などの効果が表れるのに伴い、IT化のペースは加速しそうだ。

■日本人の翻訳とネイティブチェック
The reluctance of many medical institutions to promote IT is attributable to the a medical-care system within which medical fees paid are not affected by the introduction of IT.
According to a major information company, most medical institutions are making adopting a wait-and-see attitude.
As medical institutions that have employed IT at in its early stages see tangible effects, such as significant cost reduction or increases in patients, switching to IT will be accelerated.
