今回は、一見単純そうな<and>と<or>の使い分け、ならびにいざ翻訳しようとすると戸惑ってしまう「～化」について学習します。

■課題
制度改革、IT化後押し

　来年度から始まる医療制度改革は、IT化を目標の一つに掲げる。政府の総合規制改革会議（議長・宮内義彦オリックス会長）がこのほどまとめた答申も、電子カルテの普及など医療分野のIT化促進を要求した。
　医療費を削減しながら診療の質を向上する「一石二鳥」を政府はもくろむ。複数の医師や医療機関が同じ患者のカルテを共有することで飲み合わせが悪い薬の処方を避けたり、重複検査などの無駄を省ける。患者の相互紹介もスムーズになる。

Institutional reform to be a driving force behind the promotion of IT

The reform of the medical-care system which starts next year includes promotion of IT as one of its goals. Similarly, the report compiled by the government-led Council for Comprehensive Regulatory Reform (led by Yoshihiko Miyauchi, Chairman and CEO at ORIX Corporation as the leader) calls for the promotion of IT in the medical field in such areas as proliferation of digitized medical records.
The government's aim is both to both reduce medical cost and improve the quality of medical service – sort of like a "kill- two- birds- with- one- stone" solution. When a series of multiple physicians and medical institutions can share the medical records of the same patient, it is possible to avoid contraindicated prescriptions and or duplicated examinations. It will also facilitate cross-referral of patients.
